Logline: Hollis, a reclusive soul with an uncommon affinity for electronic devices, finds out the imaginary fears he’s tried to protect himself from all his life are real when the same things start happening to the boy across the street. Alone in his knowledge of what’s transpiring, Hollis takes matters into his own hands, becoming something more strange and powerful than he ever imagined.

About the screenplay: Written by Henry G.M. Jones, STATIC is a contained, science fiction thriller with compelling and memorable characters that can be produced on a very limited budget. It recently swept all three dramatic awards at the Austin Film Festival, a feat never before accomplished in the 20+ year history of the prestigious festival. 

About the director: Christopher Alender was recently hired by Paramount and Bad Robot to direct a science fiction feature film produced by JJ Abrams.

Christopher founded Soapbox Films, a full-service production company specializing in original content, branded entertainment, and marketing, with facilities including a 10,000 square foot soundstage, offline edit bays, surround-sound mixing, storyboard and visual-effects artists, and an HD color correction and finishing suite, where he has spearheaded many award-winning projects for clients like Walt Disney Studios, The Muppets, Marvel Studios, ESPN, FOX, and MTV. He has had the opportunity to direct the biggest actors in Hollywood like Johnny Depp, Dwayne Johnson, Amy Adams, Anne Hathaway, and many more. One of his recent personal projects Eye of the Storm became an award-winning viral sensation and was featured in American Cinematographer for its cutting-edge, not-of-this-world visual aesthetic.
